Door at Catch a Fish Acupuncture & Wellness

I came to Brian with several longstanding issues: a bad back, tendinitis in my arm, and some deep, unrelenting feelings of sadness. Although previous treatments–massage and psychotherapy specifically–had offered some relief, nothing seemed to get to the heart of the matter. After working with Brian for several months, my back and tendinitis dissipated and the source of my sadness became clear. The combination of Brian’s extraordinary spirit and Catch a Fish’s Wellness plan  (which I had never done before) did the job. For this–and for Brian–I feel enormous gratitude.

Shoulder Pain @ Catch a Fish Acupuncture and Wellness

I started going to Catch a Fish after a horseback riding injury that left me with chronic shoulder pain. Brian has not only eradicated my pain, but has also given me better movement in my shoulders. This has allowed me to ride better and place higher in my competitions.  Brian has also helped me in tackling my anxiety, which has plagued me my entire life.
Brian has a very special way about him. He is extremely conscientious and empathetic. It is rare to find someone that truly listens and Brian is one of those people. Often, people with anxiety or depression do not feel heard or understood, but Brian helps me feel better each time I see him. Because of his skill, he is able to get to the root of my anxieties and not only work to overcome it through acupuncture, but also through advising other life skills such as meditation, diet, and other coping strategies.
I really could not recommend Catch a Fish enough. He is a master of his craft and truly cares about his clients. Brian has changed my life for the better and I do not know what I would do without him.

Brian helped me heal from an injury I feared I would never understand or overcome. When  I first came to Catch A Fish for treatment, I was barely able to perform even every day tasks due to a severely  immobilized spine. I was terrified – other practitioners (including  spine specialists, chiropractors, physical therapists, and other alternatives) had given up on how to help me.   Brian saw my case as a puzzle and was determined to  try to solve it. Not only did his acupuncture and shiatsu treatments offer direct and dramatic relief from pain with lasting effect, but he helped me recognize and understand the root causes of the problem as well as strategies for self-care. Now I am back to being able to do all the things I love to do – including dancing and hiking!. Brian is a true healer, and I am so thankful for his treatment and care. I cannot recommend his services highly enough.

I have been a client of Brian’s for almost five years. I began a skeptic, having tried many other alternatives, but the change his therapy has made in my life has been almost miraculous. My doctors agree. When I first went to Brian, I suffered for thirty years from chronic pain caused by a Reactive Arthritis (RA), and existed on NSAIDs. Today, I am predominately pain-free and off the NSAIDs. Over the past four years, I have lost 48 pounds and I am still progressing toward my final goal without gaining any of it back—a first. My words aren’t enough to express the positive changes in my life due to Brian and his therapies. I highly recommend him to anyone who wishes to improve the quality of their life.

After a car accident in 1998, I began seeing a massage therapist for weekly deep tissue massage. Although there was temporary pain relief I always felt the pain returned too quickly. In addition, my sleeping become erratic and I suffered from insomnia. The sleepless nights added to my daily stress which made the insomnia more severe. After going to Catch a Fish Acupuncture & Wellness, the lower back pain that had been my albatross for nearly five years gradually dissipated and my sleeping schedule became more regimented. Although I have not received treatment in over a month, I continue to reap the benefits of the therapy and the care and compassion Brian extends to his clients.

I was browsing the internal website at work when I decided to open my mind and give alternative medicine a chance with my chronic health condition. Brian Wah/To Catch a Fish was on the list of suggested practitioners. This was almost a year ago and I’ve been seeing Brian every 4-6 weeks since then. Brian is very knowledgeable; he explained his methodology in very clear, commonsensical terms during my first visit. After my first session, I already noticed an improvement when I walked out of his office. During subsequent sessions, he continued to suggest practical exercises that I can do in between visits to augment his treatments. Brian starts eac session by patiently listening to how you feel and ends it by getting immediate feedback. He has been a great health coach in my healing process. He is very sensitive to the treatments I already undergo with my medical doctors and does not contradict them; instead he carefully offers suggestions for me to try for my overall well-being. I’m quite convinced that Brian Wah is a master at what he knows and does. He has always been on point speaking from personal experience. I highly recommend him without reservation.

Neck pain @ Catch a Fish Acupuncture and Wellness

I first went to Brian for treatment of tendonitis and cervical issues in my neck. For years I had experienced back spasms and sometimes debilitating pain. Not only did Brian heal me of these issues, he addressed other less obvious ones. I trust him implicitly and know that if I have an issue, he will be able to “fix” it. It has been an extraordinary journey with Brian, and I am eternally grateful for his gift, which he uses with great joy and responsibility.

I had chronic neck, shoulder, upper and lower back pain for over 20 years and have received Physical Therapy, Western Massage, Chiropractic adjustments, and Acupuncture. Each of those only offered temporary relief. I’ve been seeing Brian for almost one year now and the first few months were very difficult, both physically and emotionally because Catch a Fish Acupuncture & Wellness works on the person as a whole. Today, I don’t walk around like a turtle in a shell anymore and I smile from the inside out. Brian is a truly gifted practitioner. I’ve told all of my friends and I’ll tell anyone who will listen. If you know you can feel better than you do today, contact Brian.

What the ancient texts knew about living well.

I’ve been seeing Brian for over five years now, and he’s helped to improve my health–both mental and physical– in countless ways. While his work is something most westerners aren’t necessarily accustomed to, anyone from any background could benefit from his treatment. He’s one of the nicest, down to earth people I’ve met, and has become a good friend to me. Even after I moved across the country and stopped treatment, he still takes the time to write to me and give great advice, and help me along my way.

My recommendation for Brian can’t come highly enough. His work is for anyone who’s interested in learning more about their body and mind, and coming into a place of better understanding of their health.

I’m an Office Manager and I often have stressful days. My workload was heavy one day and triggered a migraine and I could not afford to take time off. I had been told by a co-worker about Catch a Fish Acupuncture & Wellness. I was skeptical at first but felt I had nothing to lose. Surprisingly, the session took my migraine away and I was able to complete my work.

Brian’s acupressure massage is fantastic. He is very sensitive to where you need deep work & where you need tender care. I always feel like he improves acute symptoms (that I request him to work on) and I feel very balanced and grounded afterwards for several days. I have been getting treatments from Brian for 7+ years now- I used to be a bodyworker myself-20 years ago, have experienced massages from many practitioners over the years, and I feel Brian is one of the best!

Brian is highly knowledgeable in his field of expertise, and it shows. I was able to see results in my improved health and general disposition after a few sessions with him. He is very professional, and makes it comfortable to ask questions and engage him in conversation about what you are thinking and feeling before, during and after each session. I would highly recommend him to anyone suffering from ailments that are chronic or simply manifested physical ailments that may have a deeper emotional root. I suggest keeping an open mind about this type of therapy. many westerners may not understand what the philosophy is behind this type of practice. Having taken some martial arts in the past, I was made more familiar with certain Eastern philosophy before meeting with Brian, so my best advice is to try it first and your body will understand before your mind does. You will not be disappointed.

Brian’s work as a Shiatsu massage therapist is second-to-none. I myself am an acupuncturist and I have received body work from almost a dozen practitioners before. I was very impressed with Brian’s level of professionalism and skill during the session. Immediately, I could tell that Brian knew what he was doing. I felt great throughout the session and in the days after the session. I have scheduled with him several times since, and I have always been glad I did. I recommend Brian’s shiatsu services without reservation.

Brian is a knowledgeable and gifted healer. He takes the time to sit down with you before each session to understand what is happening, not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. He makes intuitive connections and opens space to allow healing. He has a spot-on ability to locate areas of stagnation and encourage flow. At the end of each session, Brian then takes the time to sit down with you, asks you about your experience, talk with you about what he observed, and make suggestions. His office is light-filled, open, and a pleasant space. It is a delight to work with him. I highly recommend Brian.

What the ancient texts knew about living well.

I’ve been working with Brian at Catch a Fish Acupuncture for years and he has provided a great acupuncture experience.  I use acupuncture to tackle stress in my busy lifestyle and my appointments always leave me with a sense of calm and balance.  Brian takes time with me at the beginning of each appointment to identify specific stresses and work on long term healing.  Brian is very easy to work with and I highly recommend Catch a Fish.

Brian is a wonderful listener on all levels, both in hearing what I am experiencing and in taking pulses as a Chinese medicine practitioner. When he shares insights about my energy and suggestions for healing, I never feel criticized. Rather, I feel his kindness and generosity. Also, Brian is considerate and organized in tracking treatment progress and in scheduling appointments.
